Dreams

What are dreams? Are they just silly fairytales we come up with while we are sleeping? I believe dreams are something we look to achieve someday, and hopefully do. Dreams, if good, should be fulfilled. Although I have many of dreams I imagine about achieving someday, they are what make me, me. My morals and beliefs are what go into most of my dreams. Some of my dreams are childish, but for the majority, I hope to accomplish something positive when I achieve my dreams. I only pray I may glorify God for every dream I achieve. That is what my life is for.
Dream of a dream, but do not let it stay a dream. Let it become your realistic fairytale. Just because fairytales are dreamt about does not mean you cannot achieve them. Chase your dreams! They are waiting to be lived out. Never give up on your dreams!

Finale

The Adventures of Huckleberry Finnhas sadly come to an end. Mark Twain did a wonderful job! The way the book was written and the characteristics of each character is extremely inviting. The way the characters speak just make the book an adventure to read. Mark Twain made sure that his readers knew the characters well, as if they were real. As difficult as this book would have been to complete, Mark did an excellent job! Mark Twain had a God given talent for writing. This book had so much excitement. There was always something to get the heart pounding in each chapter. The ending of the book was was not at all what I had expected. I did not absolutely love it, but Mark did a good job. I cannot recommend this book enough; it can be for children, book lovers, non book lovers, and so many more.

Imagination

A week ago my aunt suggested that I read Secret Life of Walter Mitt by James Thurber. This book is actually being turned into a movie! Well a book is a bit of an exaggeration. It is a short story. This short story is less then ten pages! Now that is pretty small. It amazes me that someone can take this short story and turn it into a movie.

Well this short story was not something I would normally pick up and read. It is about a man that has a huge imagination. James Thurber does an absolute fantastic job with the details and making every imagination come to life for the readers. It was hard to stay with the story at times because the imaginations took me off with them. I cannot wait to see the movie made from this thrilling short story!

Reading

Do you enjoy reading?

Enough to read a book on your free time?

Many people in this generation are losing the joy of reading books. Yes, reading does take time and  patience, but it is therapeutic in so many ways. Reading is an amazing tool for learning. Now, I am speaking from my own experiences, but i guarantee there are others who would agree with me.

God gave us the ability to to read and learn and so much more, that alone makes it amazing. One thing that continues to hit me in the face, is that I judge how I am going to like or dislike the book before i read it. I believe we have all heard the saying: “Do not judge a book by the cover”. Well I think we are all guilty of this doing. Of course there are creepy and horrible books out there, but someone has loved one of them. Books are a lot like people; you may know the summary of what people say about them, but you do not truly know them until you have opened them up and read their book, cover to cover. We also judge people by their appearance and thats not even the beginning of what we judge people based on.

I think this lesson is a deep one to learn. I honestly do not believe anyone has conquered this action. It is sad, but so true. We can try to improve, but we are not even close to perfection. Reading is important and a blessing to me. Without this blessing, I would not be able to read the bible, and that is by far the absolute BEST book EVER. It has complete truth in it, unlike all the rest of books that are done by imperfect people.

Well, I hope by this post you have liked it or at least learned something. Do not give up, we all have imperfections, but we must overcome the temptations to come to the Perfection of God. After all, He has given us the blessing, gift, joy, ect of being able to read.

Economics Assignment- 200 word essay on “The Church and Material Possessions.”

Discuss your ideas on whether a church as a body should own possessions, and if so what it should do with them. Are a large building and a large budget evidence of God’s blessing? Do churches and church leaders spend too much time talking about money? how can a church be a good steward of material possessions? Share your thinking and give Scriptures to support your ideas.

This was my assignment for my economics lesson this week.

” For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.”

                                                                                                    1Timothy 6:10

I do no see a reason to say it is necessary that a church own possessions; possessions can become an idol if not treated right. But, possessions could be good for a church, to give it all away to the poor or ones in need.

” Set your mind on the things above, not on the things on the earth.”

                                                                                     Colossians 3:2

Many accounts where God showers blessings upon people, is not with riches we think of today, but as a deeper meaning of His love and His plan. I cannot say for sure that a large building and a large budget is evidence of God’s blessing. I do know that anything good should happen, we should always glorify God and give Him all the praise. That would be setting ourselves right with God, instead of raising ourselves up for what has been bestowed upon us. So yes, I would say to treat them like blessings from God.

To be honest and not make up my own goofy opinion. I do not know if churches deal with money too much. God has given it a priority to the church, so i think it deserves to be treated with respect, honor, etc.

” As each one received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.”

           1Peter 4:10

A church can be a good steward of material possessions, they just have to be extremely cautious of giving them power. It can be very easy to confine to the things of this world. So be careful and pray without ceasing.

Home

Adventures of Huckleberry Finn is an exciting book. There is always something to learn in the pages of a chapter. Mark Twain did a fantastic job when it comes to this book. He helps keeps us pulled inside the book with every adventure that goes on, as well as many other things. Mr Twain made sure that his characters are brought to life with all the lifelike details.
Huckleberry is a character that most grabs my interest. Mark Twain brings sympathy and mystery to this character. I feel sympathy for him because of the life he had with his father and how he was treated. Mystery is brought amongst my mind when I think of Huck because I never know what’s going to happen. When I try to figure out the “missing piece” of Huck, I can never seem to figure it out.
Finally, I have figured out something Huckleberry longs for. He longs for a family. Huck ran away from the family that had mistreated him(his father). The family he never had to love and watch out for him, is what he longs for. Although Huck’s stubborn character does not help in most cases. Every interaction Huck has had with a family, he wants to start all over. I know he does this to be safe from being found by anyone but I also thinks he has hope of eventually starting over with the “family” he has longed for.

Freedom

Today, most Americans take advantage of the founding fathers. It is an easy thing to forget what they have done for all Americans. Every American has freedom that could not even be dreamt of if there was no America. Even though it was a mistake finding this continent, it was a blessing in disguise. Without America, there would have been no religious freedom. So many things that happen in the daily lives of Americans, happen only because of the finding of America.

People left England for many reason: money, second chance, religion, and so much more. These Americans experienced a load of feelings. Probably some of them being feelings never felt before. They went through hard times and heartbreak, but they also went through happy and surprising times. It took a lot to get to where they were, but it was indeed worth it. Some Americans were spotted by Indians and for a lot it was not a happy ending. Sickness did not come to them at first, but when it came, many did not make it.

Most of the people who came for their faith became Puritans. Pilgrims came later on the Mayflower for their religious freedoms. Many of the Christians tried to save the Indians, but it was extremely difficult because of the language bearer. Some Indians did find their way to God, but it was hard for them to leave their rituals. The plague killed several Indians and left the ones alive to fend for themselves.

It is very easy to go day by day forgetting how blessed we “Americans” are. I believe it is a humbling experience to look back and see what the founders of America went through to get us to we’re we are today. Without their courage we might not have all the freedoms we live with today. It is a major blessing to live in America and not having to worry about gaining freedom. Try to make it a goal to see the blessings in your life instead of the bad. There is always more good then bad, you just have to realize and believe it.

Mark Twain

Recently, I just started reading The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. This book is such a thrill. Even though it is not in proper English, it amazes me at how well it is written. Huckleberry Finn is even more amusing to listen to some reading it and acting out each characters tone and accent. It brings life to the pages, especially with the writing of Mark Twain.

Reading an older book may not seem like fun at all because of not knowing how to incision how things were back then. I think it brings out more imagination because you get to think hard about what each character looks like and the scenes they are in. The imagination being brought out in so much depth just makes the book seem so realistic, almost like I am living it.

Mark Twain does an outstanding job in helping the readers bring this book alive. He really makes the minds or the readers think every step through. His book is always changing where Huck is going or doing, which draws the reader into the book even more. Mark has a God given talent for writing and I cannot wait to complete this book to see what happens!

What comes to your mind when you hear the words: live, laugh, and love? There could be tons of different thoughts that come through, if you think hard enough. These words could mean everything to you, or maybe nothing at all. Some people may live by these. Some may not.

The quote: “Live, Laugh, Love” means a lot In my everyday life. I am a faithful person and I believe in God; so the word “live”, to me means to live my life faithfully. I want to be faithful not just in my religious beliefs, but in everything in life that is important to me.
Laugh may be a silly word to seem important to someone’s life, but it is immensely important for people to have joy in there life. I believe laughter brings joy to everyone. Even if it is not you who is laughing, you can get joy from seeing people laughing. If someone doesn’t have laughter, joy, in their life, it would not be a fulfilled life.
The last of these words is the most important to me. I try my hardest to live by love. In the bible, The Lord calls us to love everyone, even ourselves. Love is such a strong emotion, it extremely difficult to describe the meaning.

“And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.”
1 Corinthians 13:13

I cannot begin to explain to you why this verse means so much to me, but it does. The three words; live, laugh, and love may not seem like outstanding words but they have quite a bit of depth to them.

LIVE-LAUGH-LOVE
